It was Mr. Skibiniski who first inspired me to become a teacher. Mr. Ski had a genuine love for his students and a profound impact on their lives. As a teacher, I hope to have a similar impact on my future students and to change their lives for the better. My philosophy of education is simply this: I want children to make informed decisions about their lives. I never want, “I didn’t know” to be a cause of a child’s problems.

Over the years, I have had experience as a babysitter, tutor, and field experience student in the classroom. From my experience as a babysitter, I have learned a lot about addressing the individual needs of children. I have also encouraged learning by reading to children at a young age. During my placement last semester, I have learned a lot about classroom management, classroom preparation, teaching strategies, and child development.

Over the years, I have developed several skills that will be beneficial in the classroom. Some of my skills include good leadership skills, patience, communication skills and a passion for learning. Some of my personal attributes include compassionate, dedicated and encouraging.

During this placement, I plan to continue to grow in my experience and skill in order to better prepare myself for the teaching world. I hope to apply my good leadership skills, patience, knowledge, and my passion for learning as a teacher candidate to the classroom. I would give all my attention, skill, knowledge, and heart to educating the students and changing their lives for the better.
